The top of the skull is slightly rounded, with shallow but well-defined brows and flat cheeks. The eyes are dark oval, widely spaced, and alert. The muzzle is straight and slender, with a slight depression under the eyes. The neck is strong and long enough to hold the head high. The chest is deep and sprawling, with well-developed ribs. The heels are short and perpendicular to the ground.
Its coat is usually trimmed in a traditional shape, with curly and rope-like coats: curly coat is coarse and dense; rope-like coat is drooping, with varying lengths on different parts of the body, and very long on the neck, torso, head, and ears.

French poodles, Hungarian water dogs, Portuguese water dogs, Irish water dogs, Spanish hounds, and even Maltese dogs may be the ancestors of poodles.

There are other colors, but they are rare. At the beginning, brown was called "Teddy". After being trimmed and shaped, poodles that look as cute as bear toys can be called "Teddy". Poodles rank second in IQ among dogs, which is equivalent to the IQ of humans aged four or five, and they have strong learning ability. Generally, poodles can learn skills as long as they are taught 3-5 times, and they can always interact with their owners.
