The Cymric cat is also called the long-haired Manx cat. It is a long-haired variant of the Manx cat. Like the Manx cat, it is tailless. It is a long-haired cat without a tail. The Cymric cat is not from Wales, nor is it from the UK like the Manx cat. It was first bred in Canada in 1960, and a short-haired Manx cat gave birth to several long-haired kittens. After a careful review of the pedigree, it was proved that this short-haired Manx cat did not have the bloodline of the Persian cat, so it was a long-haired variant of the Manx cat.
After pure breeding, the Welsh cat was formed. Because the origin of the Isle of Man cat is located on the Irish island between Ireland and Wales, these cousins of the Isle of Man cat were named Cymric (Celtic: Wales). Here it is translated as the Welsh cat, and more people may call them long-haired Isle of Man cats. Except for chocolate, lavender and Himalayan cats, all colors of Welsh cats are accepted as long as the eye color and coat color are proportional.
The body shape of the Manx cat is low back, long body, and round rump like an orange. Therefore, the hind legs are obviously longer than the front legs, which is also the reason for its flying and jumping gait.
