The swamp mongoose (scientific name Atilax paludinosus) is a medium-sized mongoose.
Swamp mongooses usually give birth to two litters a year, one in the dry season and one in the wet season, with 1-3 pups per litter. They usually open their eyes in 9-14 days and are weaned in 30-46 days. The lifespan of artificially raised swamp mongooses can reach 17 years.

Location
The marsh mongoose is found throughout Africa south of the Sahara Desert and is an animal that occupies an important ecological position in swamps.

The fur on the body is thick and long, while the fur on the limbs is shorter. The claws are very soft, similar to those of raccoons, and are mainly used for digging.
