Tyrannosaurus rex is one of the most famous large carnivores of all time. It lived during the late Cretaceous period 68-66 million years ago.
From nose to tail, Tyrannosaurus rex was 13 meters long. Its skull alone is 1.5 meters long. However, although this dinosaur is huge, its arms are extremely small.
Tyrannosaurus rex is the largest dinosaur in the family Tyrannosaurus. This was followed by other tyrannosaurs such as Tarbosaurus, Albertosaurus, and Yutyrannus.
It is one of the largest and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons ever discovered. This famous specimen is on display at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago.
