There are no less than 6 individuals in the dinosaur fauna of Dashanpu, among which two relatively complete specimens are preserved in the burial hall. The holotype specimen of Airosaurus is an incomplete skeleton with a missing skull, which is collected at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The skeleton is about 4 meters long.
Aerosaurus is a type of carnivorous dinosaur with primitive morphological characteristics in the Middle Jurassic. Its skull is light, its teeth are flat on the side and dagger-shaped, with small serrations on the front and rear edges. Its forelimbs are degenerated and it often walks on its thick hind limbs, making it flexible in running. It is the overlord of the Dashanpu dinosaur fauna.
