Main characteristics of marine fishes (a wide variety of swimming animals)

2023-04-17 02:10:51 109

Being cold-blooded, having backbones, gills and fins are the main features that distinguish marine fish from other marine animals. There are more than 25,000 species of marine fish.

The anatomy of a fish

What is a fish?

Being good at swimming is another important characteristic of fish. The fish swims easily and gracefully in the sea water, which is enviable. People hope to live in the water like fish. Some fish have bird-like wings that allow them to fly above the water and glide hundreds of meters. If you have the opportunity to sail in the waters of China's Nansha Islands, there will be swarms of flying fish flying on both sides of the bow of the ship, just like a horse-drawn carriage driving through the fields to coax swarms of sparrows. Some fish have brilliant seven-color patterns and dance gracefully in the sea water. Some fish can emit light to illuminate themselves in the dark.

The living areas of marine fish are spread across all levels of seawater. Fish living in the middle and upper layers of the ocean are the main targets of human fishing. Bottom-dwelling fish feed on the mud on the seabed, making it difficult for fishermen to catch them in their nets. Fish at the bottom of the deep sea must be able to withstand harsh environments such as tremendous pressure, cold, darkness, and lack of food. The entire life cycle of some fish, from birth to death, is divided into two parts: the ocean and inland freshwater areas. Eels are thin and long, like snakes, without scales. However, eels are actually members of the fish family. Adult male and female eels mate and lay eggs in the ocean, where they both die. Salmon (chalmon) are just the opposite. They lay eggs in fresh water in rivers and lakes, hatch out young fish, and then swim to the ocean to grow. The Heilongjiang, Songhua River, Tumen River, Wusuli River and Xingkai Lake in Northeast my country are all spawning grounds for North Pacific salmon.

Marine fish need to chase suitable seawater temperature environment for reproduction (laying eggs, raising young), foraging and overwintering, and the phenomenon of regular long-distance migration is called "migratory". The time, route and purpose of fish migration are very regular. Fish migrate in groups, and a large number of adult fish gather together to facilitate fishing and obtain a good harvest, forming a "fishing flood". Therefore, mastering the laws of fish migration is very important for fishing production.
