Liobagrus kingi

King's mullet (Liobagrus kingi Tchang,1935) is an animal of the genus Liobagrus in the family Amblycephalus.

King's mullet is a small fish that likes flowing water and mainly feeds on aquatic insects and small fish and shrimps.

Body length is 4.5-8.0 times body height, 3.4-4.0 times head length, and 6.2-7.5 times caudal peduncle length. Head length is 3.9-4.9 times snout length, 1.4-1.9 times mouth width, 2.3-4.0 times eye distance, 1.0-1.3 times head width, 1.3-1.7 times mandibular barbel length, and 1.3-1.7 times outer chin barbel length.
Body is long, forequarters is relatively round, and gradually flattened after pelvic fin. Head is wide and its ventral surface is relatively flat. Upper and lower jaws are about base length. Outer chin barbel is the longest, extending backward to the starting point of pectoral fin. The maxillary barbels are equal to or slightly shorter than the outer chin barbels, and do not reach the origin of the pectoral fin.
