Form
The common Crested pheasant is 91-92 cm long and weighs 2.7-3.8 kg. It's a large, unusual bird. It gets its name from the bizarre blue-gray fig-shaped crown on its forehead. The plumage is predominantly black, the chin and breast have a green and blue metallic luster, while the belly and rump and tail are snowy white, and the beak and legs are a vivid coral red. The sexes are generally similar, but there is also a female form with rare brown and black plumage. The males are larger than the females, but both are strong.
