Crax alector Life habits and morphological characteristics

The black crested pheasant is 95 cm long and weighs 2400-3750 grams. Unique shape, unisexual. The plumage is black, with a distinct patch of white from the underbelly to the rump. This species also has a thicker crown and an underdeveloped beak tumor than most other birds of its kind.

Crax alector Distribution range and habitat

It is distributed in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
They inhabit forests and live on river banks and edges.
