Crax daubentoni feeds primarily on the ground and flies up into trees when threatened. An animal that eats fruits, leaves, seeds, and small particles. They build nests on the ground, both male and female, and the female lays two eggs at a time.
Listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species (IUCN) for 2019 ver 3.1 - Near Threatened (NT).
Listed in Appendices I, II and III of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) 2019 edition Appendix III.

Location
It is found in forests and woodlands of Colombia and Venezuela.
Form
The feathers on the cock's crown are curved forward, and there are yellow nodules on the beak; Female chickens do not have this tumor, but are otherwise similar to male chickens in that they are all black with white perianal feathers. It is generally 84-92.5 cm long and weighs about 2-3 kg.
