The crested pheasant's scientific name is Penelope perspicax, and its foreign name is Cauca Guan. Most of the time they live in pairs or in groups of 6-12. They walk on branches, looking for fruits and leaves to eat. A bird's nest is built on a tree or stump with branches and leaves. The female will lay two to three eggs at a time, which are rough and white in surface. The female will dish the eggs alone.
The current population of the Coga crested pheasant is getting smaller and smaller, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature has classified it as an endangered species, even though the total population is only 250-1000 individuals worldwide, and all of this is due to the destruction and loss of habitat, and human hunting has also caused a huge impact on it.
Protect wild animals and eliminate wild meat.
