The juvenile Crested pheasant (Ortalis ruficauda) is Rufous-vented Chachalaca and has two subspecies.
Juvenile Crested Pheasant colonies were composed of families. They walk on branches in search of fruit and seeds. You can fly vertically, but you can't fly long distances. A bird's nest is made of branches and is built in a tree. The female will lay 3-4 eggs at a time, which are incubated by the female alone. It is mainly arboreal, living in forests and woodlands, but also in open arid jungles.

Form

It is a walking bird, more like a Turkey in appearance, with a narrow head, long feet and a long, broad tail. Male and female plumage are similar, the plumage is darker, the upper body is dark brown and the lower body is lighter. The head is gray, the tail is brown, and the tips are red or white.
