Colinus cristatus, Crested Bobwhite, is an insect eater. In spring and summer, male birds are most often seen, with a loud, clear call that produces a bob-bob-white call.
Listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) 2016 Red List of Threatened Species ver 3.1: Not Threatened (LC).

Location
It is found in Central America, between North and South America.
It lives in the open savannah and is found in open woodlands such as bushes and trees.
Form
It has a brown back with black spots on the upper cloth. The head has a white brow stripe, dark lines through the eyes, with a short crest, and a white or brown throat. The underbelly is mostly pale, and in some species the breast plumage is variegated.
Female birds have lighter plumage than male birds. The wings of male birds have distinct contrasting black markings, while the wings of female birds lack color differences. The bottom of the mandible is black for males and yellow for females. The back is reddish-brown, and the chest feathers have white edges, black stripes and a mottled appearance.
