Known as Odontophorus capueira or Spot-winged Wood-quail, they are active at dawn or dusk. They live in families in small groups of up to 12 birds. A gentle personality. They are used to looking for food on the ground and searching the soil for fallen seeds, fallen fruits and insects. The character is usually shy and cautious, and will usually flee on foot when frightened, sometimes flying quickly for short distances.
