Xie's Partridge (scientific name: Scleroptila shelleyi) foreign name Shelley' S. Francolin, there are 3 subspecies.
The Partridge is monogamous and the breeding season varies from region to region, generally during the dry season following the rainy season. The nest is built on the ground hidden in dense grass. Each clutch lays 3-8 eggs.

Form
The Partridge is 33-35 cm long and weighs 392-600 grams. There are several vertical black and yellow stripes from the top of the head to the neck, with fine white stripes. In flight, small reddish-brown patches appear on the wings. The lower part of the body is characterized by square markings of mixed black and white, especially on the stomach. The beak is black and the legs are yellow.
