Location
It is distributed in the Indian subcontinent and southwest China, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and the southeastern region of Tibet, China.
Form
Grey pigeon of medium size (35 cm). It is characterized by a neck ring with broad yellow skin and black scaly spots on the back of the pillow. The upper back has a light purple and green shimmer. The head is grayer than the upper body; Chest grey, gradating to grey buttocks; Chin white. Iris - white to yellow; Mouth - gray-green, base purple; Feet - Red.
