Details
Columba versicolor, also known as the Ogasawara forest pigeon, is a pigeon unique to the Nakamishima and Fuku Islands of the Ogasawara Islands in Japan. There are only four specimens, collected between 1827 and 1889. They were eventually wiped out in the 19th century by deforestation, hunting, and predation by invading rats and cats.
