Emerald Dove (Chalcophaps indica) has nine subspecies: Emerald Dove and Common Emerald Dove.
The green-backed golden dove is a resident bird, often alone or in pairs. He likes to run and forage on the ground beside the mountain paths and ditches. After being disturbed, they quickly take off at a great speed and fly out 100-200 meters, then descend, then fly and fall until they enter the woods. Flying fast, can constantly change direction in flight, curve flight, so it can be very good through the forest. Rest in the tree branches. Walking on the ground is also very light and agile, and sometimes makes a "ge-ge" sound.
It feeds mainly on plant fruits and seeds. They also eat termites and insects. They feed mainly on the ground.
The breeding period is from March to May. Breeding in pairs. Usually nests in shrubs or shrubs and bamboo bushes, more than 1.5~4m high from the ground. The nest is mainly composed of dead branches and small rattan. The nest is disc-shaped and slightly concave in the middle. Each clutch usually lays 2 eggs, the color of the eggs is milky yellow or skin yellow, the shape is oval, the size of 23~29mm×19~22cm.
