Details
The Blue-eyed Ground Dove, Columbina cyanopis or Blue-eyed ground dove, is endemic to Brazil. No individual sightings of this bird have been recorded in the wild since 1941, so it is considered probably extinct. However, in 2016, a miraculous 12 blue-eyed ground doves were found in a small area of the Cerrado region of Brazil.
Listed in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) ver 3.1:2010 Red List of birds - Critically Endangered (CR).

Location
It is found in South America, including Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and the Malvinas Islands (also known as the Falkland Islands).
The habitat is located in subtropical or tropical arid lowland grasslands, and they are currently under threat from habitat loss.
Form
The blue-eyed ground dove looks like a gray dove on the outside, but its feathers are a gray-blue color, its belly is a blue-purple color, and it has sapphire eyes
