Appearance

The body is eel-shaped, with a cylindrical front part and a flattened back part. The tail is short and the anus is located at the back of the body. The total length is about 18-20 times the body height and 5.3-6 times the head length. The head is long and cylindrical, and the head length is 3.3-3.4 times the snout length. The eyes are covered by translucent skin. There is one nostril, located in the center of the back of the eye, with raised edges, no pigment distribution, and a ring shape. There is an oblong light-colored spot behind it, which is the parietal eye area and has photosensitivity.
