The rescued great bustard was released into the wild in Miyun, Beijing

Recently, the Beijing Wildlife Rescue Center successfully released a rescued great bustard, a national first-level protected animal, in Miyun District.

The bustard was discovered and reported by villagers of Jugezhuang Village in Miyun District on October 26. The Miyun District Landscaping Bureau immediately dispatched staff to the scene for emergency treatment, and the Beijing Wildlife Rescue Center was transferred to the Beijing Wildlife Rescue Center for further rescue. After examination, it was found that the bustard had large areas of congestion under the skin of its wings, its lower limbs were weak, it was difficult to stand up, and it was accompanied by diarrhea. After drug treatment and nutritional supplements, the bustard's physical condition gradually improved. After the examination met the standards, it was decided to release it at the rescue site.

It is currently the migration season for migratory birds. Beijing municipal and district landscaping departments have stepped up inspections of key areas such as wetlands, reservoirs, rivers, and parks to ensure the safe transit of migratory birds.
