Cats shortlisted for the 2022 British National Cat Awards

The annual Cat Awards, run by UK animal charity Cats Protection, celebrates all things cat-related. Nominated cats are not only lovable, but also help their owners' lives in a variety of ways. Let’s take a look at some of this year’s finalists.

This kitten is called Chicken, and she has a very close relationship with her 11-year-old owner, Elliot. When Elliot is stressed, Chicken will stick by his side and relieve him with soothing purrs. Chicken is a finalist for the Forever Cat Friend Award.

Archie the cat is Maddie’s good friend. Maddie has kidney disease and needs treatment five times a week. Archie was nominated in the Catering Category – awards given to cats that have a positive impact on their owners’ health or well-being.

Max (the kitten) is the perfect companion for Jessica, who suffers from several medical conditions, including epilepsy. If Jessica needed help, Max would make sure Jessica got it. Max was also nominated for the Forever Cat Friend Award, which is dedicated to friendships between cats and children.

Spuds was also nominated for the Most Caring Kitten Award after alerting and notifying owner Brendan that there was a fire in his home.

Millie was nominated for the Outstanding Rescue Cat Award, an award given to kittens adopted from rescue organizations. Millie helped her owner, Jessica, when she was feeling extremely low.

Murdock was originally shy, but he overcame his shy nature and became the perfect companion for his owner Gwen. Murdoch was also nominated for the Outstanding Rescue Cat Award.

The Cat Colleagues Award is given to kittens who help their owners in their work. Among this year's nominees for the award is Dylan the cat, who helps his owner Rebecca with college tutoring.
