A foal in Devon, England, was born on a mountainside in a national park. Shortly after its birth, it was abandoned by its mother. Since then, with the help of the staff, the foal has recovered to health and has adopted a toy teddy bear as its "mother" and has been inseparable from it.
According to reports, the foal named Plymouth (Breeze) was born on a mountainside in the national park. By the time the local Devon foal shelter came to rescue, the foal was already exhausted due to excessive shock and severe dehydration. . The foal has since recovered with the help of shelter staff, but it lacks a "mom" to cling to. So staff put a teddy bear named Buttons into the foal's pen. From then on, they were inseparable and kept each other company.
Sheila Bowden, executive director of the shelter, said: "Poor Plymouth doesn't have his mother by his side. Although the caregivers at the shelter are looking after him day and night, it still makes a difference. So we often give orphaned foals a huge can. The charity also appeals to the community to donate suitable and fluffy toys for animals that will be taken into care in the future.
