The fierce falcon is a bird of the genus Falconidae. It is similar in size to the swallow falcon, and its cry is similar to the cry of the yellow-clawed falcon - "ke-ke-ke-ke". It mainly feeds on Coleoptera insects, small birds and bats, but also eats mice and lizards.
The breeding period is from April to June. They usually use the old nests of crows and other birds on tall trees on the edge of steep cliffs, and occasionally build their own nests on the rocks of the cliffs, but the nests are extremely simple and rough. Each clutch lays 3-4 eggs. The parent birds take turns incubating the eggs, and the incubation period is 25 days.
The head, sides of the head, pillow, back neck and upper back of the Falcon are black, gradually turning into dark slate gray or light gray on the lower back, waist, wing coverts, upper tail coverts and tail feathers. It has black rachis stripes; the central tail feathers are gray with blurred black horizontal spots. The old bird only has one black subterminal spot, and the inner feathers of the outer tail feathers have significant black or cinnamon bark yellow horizontal spots; the primary flight feathers and secondary The flight feathers are black, with reddish-brown or light gray-brown horizontal spots and spots on the inner feathers. The inner secondary flight feathers are the same color as the back. It is lightly stained with light brown, and the rest of the underparts are dark chestnut red. There are slightly black feather trunk lines on the chest side, and the underwing feathers and axillary feathers are dark chestnut.
