Why don't monkeys have whites of their eyes?

Among primates, except for humans whose eyes are clearly black and white, the whites of the eyes of other animals are the same as monkeys and chimpanzees. Of course, they do not have no whites of their eyes, but the whites of their eyes are brown and difficult to distinguish from the blacks of their eyes. After research, scientists believe that these close relatives of humans wear a pair of "big sunglasses" for camouflage and concealment. During the hunting process, if the hunter clearly exposes his sight, it will alert the prey and lose a great hunting opportunity; while for the prey, the unclear sight may give the enemy the illusion that "the other party may have been alert", so that they can escape.

So why are the whites of human eyes white? Scientists believe that when human ancestors walked from trees to the ground, they learned to use fire and various tools, which greatly reduced the risk of being hunted by other animals. In addition, they also needed to communicate more effectively when hunting, foraging, and working together, so the whites of the eyes gradually evolved into white, making the vision more clear and easy to understand. In other words, the reason why humans can communicate through unique eye contact such as winking and flirting is because of the whites of the eyes.
