Dog involution refers to a disease in which the dog's stomach or small intestine twists, causing digestive tract obstruction and blood circulation disorders. It is also known as gastric torsion syndrome or bloating syndrome. This is a very dangerous condition that requires emergency treatment, otherwise it may lead to the dog's death.

The specific cause of dog involution is still unclear, but some conditions may increase the risk of dog involution, including:

1. Dietary problems: Dogs are prone to involution when they are hungry for a long time or eat too much.

2. Activity problems: Excessive exercise, such as drinking water immediately after strenuous activity, may also cause dog involution.

3. Dog breeds: Certain large dogs, deep-chested dogs, and older dogs are more likely to suffer from involution.

4. Other physical problems: If a dog has other gastrointestinal problems (such as gastric polyps, etc.) or diseases such as endocrine disorders, it may also cause intestinal prolapse.

If a dog suffers from intestinal prolapse, it needs to be treated by a doctor immediately. Treatment usually includes emergency surgery to reset the twisted organ and remove any damaged or necrotic tissue. During the treatment process, the dog also needs supportive care, such as infusion and nutritional supplements. Ways to prevent intestinal prolapse include: regular diet, eating in divided times, and avoiding eating or drinking immediately after strenuous exercise.
