Of all the known dinosaur species, the most docile are probably the herbivorous sauropods. These dinosaurs generally ate plants, were large, slow-moving, and rarely aggressive. One of the most famous sauropods was the Diplodocus (Brachiosaurus), which lived during the Jurassic period 150 million years ago and could reach a height of 13–15 meters (42–49 feet) and weigh 40–80 tons. Despite their large size, Diplodocus was considered a relatively docile and calm dinosaur, preferring to flee from danger rather than attack.
