The national bird of China is the oriole. The oriole (scientific name: Oriolus oriolus) is a medium-sized bird, about 22 to 25 centimeters in length. The male is bright yellow, with black wings and tail, and black eyeliner; the female is relatively dull, with olive green feathers.
Orioles are distributed in forests and woods in Europe, Asia and Africa, and are commonly found in forest edges, forests and parks. They are omnivorous and feed on insects, fruits and pollen. The oriole has a beautiful singing voice and is known as the "little poet in the forest".
In Chinese culture, the oriole is regarded as an auspicious bird, symbolizing spring, happiness and a bright future.
