What kind of animal is a hippopotamus?

The hippopotamus is a mammal belonging to the family Hippopotamus, with the scientific name Hippopotamus amphibius. They are one of the largest semi-aquatic mammals in the world and live in rivers, lakes and swamps in Africa.

Hippopotamus have a huge head and thick body, short and thick limbs, and webbed feet, which are adapted to walking and swimming in water.
