How to tell if a turtle knows its owner

2023-06-02 18:23:11 4359

Turtles are relatively calm animals and usually don't express their knowledge and affection for their owners in the same obvious way that dogs or cats do. However, turtles also have their own unique behavioral patterns that demonstrate understanding and trust of their owners.

Here are some signs that your turtle knows its owner:

1. Turtles will become interested in their owners: If turtles start to actively approach their owners, look at their owners with their eyes, walk towards them, or follow their owners, this can mean that they are interested in their owners.

2. Turtles will respond positively to their owners: If they show slight excitement or curiosity when their owners approach or interact with their owners, this may be a way for them to bond with their owners.

3. Turtles will show signs of security: When turtles feel safe, they will stick their heads out of their shells to explore their surroundings. If they feel comfortable and relaxed, it means they feel safe around and know their owner.

It should be noted that it may take some time for the turtle to truly get to know its owner. It is recommended that owners give their turtles enough time and space to gradually build trust and bond with each other.
