Tyrannosaurus rex and elephants are two animals that lived in different periods. It is impossible to say who is more powerful through simple comparison. However, we can compare from the following aspects:

1. Size: Tyrannosaurus rex is a huge dinosaur, about 12-15 meters long and weighing 8 tons; modern elephants are also one of the largest terrestrial animals on earth, and adult African elephants can weigh about 6 tons. Asian elephants also weigh between 3-5 tons. From this perspective, Tyrannosaurus rex was larger than modern elephants.

2. Function: Tyrannosaurus rex is a carnivorous dinosaur with sharp teeth and the ability to run fast, which can show great lethality in hunting; modern elephants are herbivorous mammals with extremely strong bodies and IQ, and also has strong self-protection capabilities in the wild. Therefore, there is a clear functional difference between the two.

3. Extinction: Tyrannosaurus rex became extinct about 66 million years ago, but modern elephants are still living on the earth today. Although Tyrannosaurus rex was one of the most powerful carnivores on earth at the time, it has become a part of history, and modern elephants have become an important part of the earth's ecology.

Therefore, we cannot simply compare the two. They both have their own unique characteristics and advantages.
