It is currently believed that there are two main subspecies of tigers: Asian tigers and Siberian tigers. These two subspecies are further subdivided into several subspecies.
Asian tigers include Indian tigers, Bengal tigers, Indochinese tigers, South China tigers and Malayan tigers. The Siberian tiger, also known as the Amur tiger or Siberian tiger, is one of the largest cats. Some other tiger subspecies that are considered separate include the Chinese tiger, the Bali tiger, the Javan tiger, the Indonesian tiger, and others. In short, although the classification of tigers is still controversial, at least the above-mentioned subspecies of tigers have been confirmed.
