Temperature for hatching chicks

2023-06-29 23:22:54 117

Incubating chicks requires a suitable temperature to ensure hatchability during incubation and the health of the chicks. The following are general temperature guidelines:

1. Early incubation period (pre-incubator period): Usually from the beginning of incubation to about 3-4 days, the temperature should be maintained between 37.5 degrees Celsius and 38.3 degrees Celsius.

2. Mid-incubation period (mid-incubator period): Starting from the 4th or 5th day, the temperature can be gradually reduced to 36.7 degrees Celsius to 37.5 degrees Celsius. Adjustment of temperature at this stage helps the chicks develop normally.

3. At the end of the incubation period (late period of the incubator): About 1-2 days before the hatching day, the temperature can be slightly lowered again to 36.1 to 36.7 degrees Celsius to help the chicks prepare for hatching.

Please note that these temperature ranges are general guidelines and may actually vary depending on chicken species, environmental conditions and incubation equipment. Therefore, before hatching chicks, it is best to refer to the specific hatchery equipment instructions or consult a veterinarian or breeding expert for more accurate temperature recommendations.

In addition, the incubator should provide appropriate humidity and ventilation to ensure the stability and air quality of the incubation environment. Temperature and humidity are key factors that are essential to successfully hatching healthy chicks.
