If a dog has been vaccinated against rabies and bites someone, do they still need to be vaccinated?

If a dog has been vaccinated with an effective rabies vaccine and completed the necessary immunization procedures before the biting incident, the person who was bitten usually does not need to be vaccinated against rabies again.

Rabies vaccine is used to prevent dogs or other animals from transmitting rabies to humans. When a dog completes the rabies vaccination program, its body will produce enough antibodies to deal with the rabies virus. Therefore, if the bitten person determines that the dog has been vaccinated with an effective rabies vaccine, and the vaccination program has been completed before the biting incident, there is generally no need to vaccinate again against rabies.

However, specific practices may vary depending on regional and national regulations and medical advice. If you or someone else is bitten by a dog, seek immediate medical attention and seek guidance from your local health department or medical professional. They will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis and provide relevant recommendations and measures.
