Can kittens drink pure milk?

After weaning, kittens should usually begin a gradual transition to solid food rather than continuing to drink milk. Although kittens need their mother's milk for nutrients when they are born, their digestive systems adapt to solid food over time.

Pure milk is not an ideal drink choice for kittens. Most adult cats gradually lose their ability to digest lactose after weaning and therefore cannot effectively digest the lactose in milk. This can lead to problems such as diarrhea and indigestion.

If your kitten has been weaned, it's a good idea to offer it a replacement formula or wet food specifically designed for kittens. These products are formulated to meet the nutritional needs of kittens and are easier to digest.

If you have any questions about your kitten's diet, it is recommended to consult your veterinarian for professional advice and guidance.
