For puppies, the way to judge male and female dogs based on their appearance is as follows:

    1. Body size:

       - Generally speaking, male dogs are larger and slightly burlier than female dogs. Especially in adulthood, male dogs’ heads, necks and shoulders will be wider.

    2. Anal shape:

       - If you look closely, you will find that the male dog’s anus is more prominent, while the female dog’s anus is flatter.

    3. Nipples:

       - If the puppy has grown up, the skin around the female dog’s nipples will change color, enlarge and protrude, while the male dog’s nipples will be flatter.

    4. Behavior and character expression:

       - Female dogs are usually docile, more intimate, mild-tempered, peaceful and timid than male dogs; while male dogs are more lively and active.

It should be pointed out that it is difficult to determine the gender of puppies, especially for newborn puppies, whose reproductive organs are generally not obvious. Therefore, the most reliable method is to ask a veterinarian for sex determination.
