Are mole crickets beneficial insects or pests?

2023-11-07 21:39:16 104

Mole crickets belong to the family Grylloidea and are often called native dogs. In many cases, they are considered pests. This is because both their larvae and adults feed on plant roots and underground tubers, especially the roots of cereals, vegetables and flowers, and can therefore cause damage to crops and plants. Their herbivorous behavior may affect plant growth and harvests.

Due to their herbivorous behavior, Gryllotalpas are widely regarded as pests in agriculture and gardening. Controlling these insects is often an important part of protecting crops and plants.
