"One mate is the best" is often used to describe the breeding of animals, especially pets. However, the actual situation is more complicated than simply getting pregnant after one mating. When it comes to dogs, every situation can be different.

A female dog will be in estrus during a specific period of her menstrual cycle (usually lasting about 9 to 14 days), which is when she is most likely to become pregnant. If you mate with a male dog, the chance of pregnancy will increase, but it does not mean that you will get pregnant in one mating. Some bitches may require multiple matings to become pregnant, while others may become pregnant after just one mating.

Under normal circumstances, it is recommended that after confirming the estrus period, breed the dog every day until the end of the estrus period to increase the possibility of pregnancy. Also, if your dog is experiencing fertility issues or you have any concerns, it’s best to consult your veterinarian for professional advice.
