Are polar bears marine animals?

2023-12-09 08:02:41 61

Polar bears are often considered marine mammals because they spend a lot of time on sea ice in search of their primary food source, seals. They are strong swimmers and can remain underwater for several minutes to hunt. While they may breed and rest on land, polar bears' survival and hunting behavior are closely tied to the ocean. This special ecological habit is the key to polar bears' ability to survive in polar environments. So, from an ecological behavioral perspective, polar bears can indeed be described as marine animals, although they do not live entirely in the water.
