Dorsal fin rays XIII-XIV-10-11; anal fin rays III-7; pelvic fin near the chest; even fins and caudal fin round. The body is dark brown with irregular black spots, the ventral side is gray and white, and each fin is yellow.
It is a warm temperate mountain stream fish and prefers a clear water environment with rocky bottom.
