Pufferfish are raised as ornamental fish due to their unique body shape and lifestyle. Its feeding habits are diverse and its food range is wide. Common foods include shrimps, crabs, fish fry, insect larvae, cladocerans, copepods, branches and leaves of higher plants and filamentous algae. It has strong fecundity and the reproductive season is from April to June.
