Not only was the Patago titanosaur massive, it was probably the longest dinosaur ever. The giant is thought to be around eight meters tall. Just one leg bone is more than two meters long, which is taller than the average person!

In fact, Titanosaurus Patago was more than nine times heavier than the African elephant, the largest land animal living today.

Titanosaurus Patago lived during the Early Cretaceous period about 101 million years ago.

Fossils of this prehistoric reptile were discovered in the Chubut province of Argentina. It is one of the most complete titanosaurs ever discovered, so its size is more certain than other dinosaurs sometimes claimed to be the world's largest, such as Puertasaurus and Argentinosaurus.
