Although Angelosaurus was discovered as early as 1818, it wasn't until 1885 that scientists realized it was a dinosaur.
Angelosaurus has an approximately triangular head and a slender nose. Its teeth are diamond-shaped and appear to be well suited for feeding on leaves. Angelosaurus's neck, body and tail all appear longer, and its long, narrow feet have large claws with curved thumbs, which were probably used to dig underground roots of plants.
The length of Angelosaurus's forelimbs is only one-third of the length of its hind limbs, so it is likely to be like Plateosaurus, which usually walks on four legs most of the time, but can stand on its hind limbs to reach food.
Angelosaurus lived in the early Jurassic period, and their fossils have been found in the United States and southern Africa.
