The fur is gray with spots, the top of the head is black, and there is an orange band with white edges on the forehead. The upper lip and chin are covered with blue-white hair. A narrow white band runs through the thighs, and the tail and limbs are darker in color. The male is obviously much larger than the female monkey, and the scrotum is bright blue. It has a tuft of white hair on its chin, which makes it look like an old scholar, so it is also affectionately called "Doctor Monkey".

Distributed in Angola, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda. Mainly inhabits rainforests, swamps and forests under mountains.

The scientific name of the Cercopithecus neglectus is Cercopithecus neglectus. Because of its excellent tree-climbing ability, even the most agile animals find it difficult to catch it. It feeds on seeds and fruits. It is the only monkey in the family Cercopithecus that uses monogamy.

Listed in the "World Conservation Union" (IUCN) ver.: 2008 Red List of Primates - Low Concern (LC).
