The Steller's sea lion is also known as the sea donkey and Steller's sea lion. It is the largest species of sea lion. The face is short and wide, the snout is blunt, the eyes and outer ear shells are relatively small, and the tentacles are very long. The forelimbs are longer and wider than the hind limbs, the first toe of the forelimbs is the longest, and the claws are degenerated. The outer toes of the hind limbs are longer and wider than the three middle toes, which are clawed.


The whole body is covered with short hair, and only the ends of the flippers are exposed. The male adult has long and thick manes around the neck and shoulders. The body hair is yellowish brown, the hair color is lighter on the back, and the chest and abdomen are darker. Newborn animals have dense brown hair.


The maximum length of an adult male is 3.3 meters and the weight is 1,000 kilograms. The maximum body length of an adult female is about 2.5 meters, and the average weight is 273 kilograms. The average body length of newborn animals is 1 meter and the weight is 16 to 23 kilograms.


Activities in multiple groups, sometimes forming large groups of thousands on land, but small groups of 1 or more than ten are often found at sea. They mainly gather in areas where bait is abundant. The food is mainly benthic fish and cephalopods. It is distributed in both the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea in my country.
