The body length of the microbiome is 4-6.5 mm, and the body width is 1-2 mm. It is the smallest known beetle in my country. The body is brownish gray to brownish red, quite dark. The female antennae are slender, especially the four base sections, which are shorter than the male antennae beyond the abdomen; the terminal sections of the male are thinner and linear, with the 3rd and 4th sections being slightly equal in length and shorter than the fifth section. The prothorax is very broad and cylindrical, with a straight front edge and a concave rear edge. Sometimes there are tumor-like protrusions in the middle area and a shallow straight vertical stripe in the center; the female prothorax is shorter and the center of both sides is more prominent; The male worm is narrower, with the posterior edge contracted on both sides. The scutes are raised on both sides and sunken in the center. The elytra are densely covered with gray hairs and a few vertical hairs, and the two sides are slightly parallel. The ends of the male are blunt and round, and the female is slightly wider. The leg segments of the male's front legs are thicker and the female's are longer.
Host plants include leaves and branches of oak, chestnut, maple, Quercus, hawthorn, willow, peach, Rubus and other plants. Distributed in northern my country and southern Shaanxi, and found abroad in Japan, western Asia, Europe and North America.
Living habits: The larvae live in the dead branches of broad-leaved trees, and more on willow trees. One generation occurs every two to three years. In addition, it can also live in house furniture, especially branch-woven utensils.
