There has been endless discussion about whether dragons really existed. It is difficult to answer the question whether there are dragons, but there are indeed some animals in the world that are similar to dragons, either in part or in whole. For example, the hexagonal arowana we are going to introduce today has many dragon characteristics on its body.

It should be noted that the Hexagonal Arowana is not a real fish, it just got the name of a fish. If classified biologically, the Hexagonal Arowana actually belongs to the Salamanderidae family in the class Amphibians. There are many types of salamanders in the world, but with its unique appearance, the Hexagonal Arowana has become the most famous, valuable, and popular one. In the aquarium pet market around the world, hexagonal arowanas are very popular.

So, what are the similarities between the Hexagonal Arowana and dragons? First of all, it’s the head. The legendary dragon has horns on its head. The Hexagonal Arowana also has six horns on its head, and its shape is somewhat like the legendary dragon horns. Secondly, the dragon has claws on its long body (divided into five-clawed dragon, four-clawed dragon and three-clawed dragon), and the hexagonal dragon fish also has four claws on its body. In addition, the dragon's tail is also very similar to the tail of the Hexagonal Arowana!

However, unlike the huge body of the dragon, although the hexagonal dragon fish also carries the word "dragon", their size is small. The body length of juvenile Hexagonal Arowana is only about 12 millimeters, and the body length of most Hexagonal Arowana in adulthood is about 18 centimeters. The longest record is only over 20 centimeters long.
Although the Hexagonal Arowana cannot be compared with the legendary dragon in terms of size, the Hexagonal Arowana also has its own "special functions." Their regeneration ability is very strong. As long as the head is not damaged, most parts of the body can recover quickly from damage. Someone once did an experiment. He used a knife to cut off the limbs of the Hexagonal Arowana. As a result, after just over three months, the limbs of the hexagonal dragon fish that had been amputated regrew their limbs.
In addition, the Hexagonal Arowana is a truly ancient creature. According to modern scientific analysis, this strange salamander has existed for at least tens of millions of years. But the amazing thing is that such a long time has not caused the slightest change in their bodies. There are more than thirty kinds of Hexagonal Arowana currently existing in the world (according to 2009 statistics, some species may be extinct now), all of which remain consistent with their original forms. This can be regarded as a miracle in the history of biology.
The first need of life is survival. Every species has the right to protect its own survival. For each of us, starting from ourselves, respecting life means respecting ourselves.
