Triphophysa minuta (Li, 1966) is a small fish of the genus Triphophysa of the family Cobitidae. It lives in a vast area of Xinjiang.
Listed in the second level of the "List of National Key Protected Wildlife in China".

Location
In the ditches and shallow streams of Toksun, Urumqi, Miquan, Jinghe, Bole, Wenquan and Wuerhe in northern Xinjiang.
Inhabits river sections with gravel bottom and slow-flowing ditches.
Form
The body is slightly elongated, thick and round in the front and flat in the back. The head is triangular and flat, with the width of the head greater than the height. The snout is shorter than the length of the head behind the eyes, and is about the same as the distance between the eyes. The space between the two eyes is flat, round, and located laterally. The front and rear nostrils are slightly separated and not close together. There is a tubular skin process in the front nostril. In males, there is a triangular protuberance with velvety tubercles below the eyes and nostrils. The mouth is inferior, arc-shaped, with narrow upper lip and interrupted lower lip. There are "eight"-shaped papillae on both sides, which are wide at the top and narrow at the bottom, and there are 2-3 shallow grooves on the surface of the protuberance.
