Details
Yalu River grayling, whose Latin name is Thymallus yaluensis, is the most common grayling on the market. It has taken advantage of a loophole in the list, but it also belongs to a gray area.
The Yalu River fennel and the Heilongjiang fennel have certain differences in morphology (maxilla and gill raker number), but after molecular verification, it is a synonym of the Heilongjiang fennel and is now an invalid species. The Yalu River fennel is scarce and concentrated in streams above 1,000 meters above sea level in Changbai Town, Jilin. From the perspective of species protection, it can be regarded as an independent species for protection.
In December 2021, it was included in the third batch of the "List of National Key Protected Aquatic Wildlife for Artificial Breeding" by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Listed in the second level of China's "List of National Key Protected Wildlife".
