The veiled chameleon is native to Central Asia, such as Saudi Arabia and Yemen, so they have another name - Yemen chameleon. They are a relatively large chameleon and are also the most suitable chameleon for beginners to raise.
When the mood is beautiful, the iridophore crystals are closely arranged, reflecting blue light, and appear green through the yellow pigment epidermis. When it is nervous, the crystal arrangement will be looser, and such a structure will reflect light with a longer wavelength, thus showing brighter colors or gray-black. When female chameleons reach the mating season, their body surface will show special patterns as a mating signal. If the color of a high-crested chameleon is too light in daily life, it is generally considered whether the temperature in the cage is too high, while if the color is too dark, it is likely to have health problems.
Their eyes can sensitively observe any moving objects, but they cannot see static objects, nor can they see static water sources.
High-crested chameleons are species listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. If they are kept without permission, they will be sentenced.
Protect wild animals and eliminate game.
